Transportation projects in the PGP area are undertaken by the four local governments (Brookhaven, Chamblee, Doraville and Dunwoody) as well as Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) , MARTA and DeKalb County.
With both I-285 and I-85 as well as GA 400 creating the boundaries to the PGP as well as a MARTA rail line, the area has substantial transportation access and future mobility options. However, the existing transportation corridors including Buford Highway and Peachtree Boulevard, require improvements for both traffic management and safer sidewalks, trails and roadway crossings for pedestrians and bicycles. Better access from neighborhoods to schools, shopping and parks is also possible.
It is a key priority of the PGP to improve the identification, coordination, funding and construction of transportation improvements in North DeKalb. A list of area transportation projects is provided below.
